New Year’s Vince Camuto Picks

One of my favorite things to do in New York is to grab a coffee from Sant Ambroeus, Via Quadronno, or Ralph’s and then go for a stroll and window shop along Madison Avenue. There’s just something about seeing all of the window displays, ornate storefronts, and flagships for some of the most iconic fashion houses in the world. It inspires my wardrobe and gives me tons of ideas for future wish lists and potential outfits alike.

One of the things I was reminded of during a recent window shopping jaunt was how difficult it can be to keep up with the trends. Not only are there so many of them coming from so many directions, but they also come and go much more quickly than they used to! The “algorithm” seems to serve up an endless variety of vintage reimagining’s of Y2K styles I barely cared anything about 20 years ago, let alone now.

The answer? Admire (er, tolerate) these trends from afar, and do your best to create a timeless, personal style. From there, you can adopt aspects of these flavor-of-the-month trends while avoiding going full Avril Lavigne.

For example, I love the wave of square-toed boots and shoes we’re starting to see more of, and I always enjoy a chunky-soled boot, so I find ways to incorporate those types items into my current wardrobe without feeling the need to buy the baggiest low-rise jeans I can find to pair with them. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water with trends, but don’t feel the need to copy and paste the styles you’re seeing either — just find ways to make them your own!

It’s their ability to follow this line of thinking that’s made Vince Camuto such a long-time staple brand for me. They always have classic styles I can envision wearing with anything I own, and they find ways to adopt their own versions of trending styles — while also keeping them very affordable. In that way, they’re kind of the perfect brand for this kind of environment, because their selections give you a chance to find consistent quality and a really deft touch of trendiness that proves their team knows what their doing.

Vince Camuto is offering an extra 30% off already marked down styles from 1/20 – 1/25 with promo code EXTRA30. Shop loafers, heels and booties at saving up to 65% off to help build your New Year wardrobe. (Some exclusions apply.)
