Homemade Ice Cream Recipes

5/19/21

You know summer is almost here when we get an ice cream maker! Also when I get more excited about It than anything I’ve purchased recently, is this what being an adult is all about? This is our first time having a patio fire escape in the city so we love having drinks or dessert out on It while the sun sets! The ice cream maker we got is only $70 and while I was shopping for It I found this set of gold flatware and adorable polka dot bowls that perfectly completed the set. I’m going to lay out some of the recipes we’ve tried and have loved below! If you have any that you’ve tried PLEASE share with the class in the comments!

VANILLA ICE CREAM

1 cup whole milk
3/4 granulated sugar
2 cups heavy cream
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
pinch of salt

Use a hand mixer on low speed to combine the milk, sugar and salt until sugar is dissolved. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.

Turn on the maker, pour the mixture into the frozen freezer bowl and mix until thickened, about 15 to 20 minutes.

PEANUT BUTTER ICE CREAM

1 cup peanut butter (not natural)
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 cup whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup chopped peanut butter cup candies

Combine sugar and peanut butter until smooth. Add the milk and mix on low speed until sugar is dissolved. Stir in heavy cream, and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate 1 to 2 hours. Let mix in freezer bowl for 15 to 20 minutes. Five minutes before mixing is complete add in peanut butter candies.

While I was on the hunt for this ice cream maker I came across some FUN summer kitchen appliances! Linking them below (P.S. that frozen drink maker is right up my alley)!

Xx,

Anna
