Breaking Down the Look: Cozy Womenswear Styles for Winter

Styling womenswear pieces for winter.

Over the past week or so, we’ve talked about layering season and the cozy nights of winter. Today, I’m dipping back into both of those aspects of the most wonderful time of the year!

Fall and early Winter are great times to put together outfits because you really do have tons of options for jacket and coat combinations. My goal with this outfit was to stay cozy above all else, because, frankly, you don’t want to be cold while walking around the city. I’ve broken down the look piece by piece below!

Headband

You know it’s my favorite accessory, but there’s no question one that is too heavy or too tight can leave you with a headache. This one is as light as a feather and doesn’t fit too snug! The fact that it’s only $5 makes it a no brainer! (See what I did there?)

Coat

I’m a massive fan of what I like to call “street legal pajamas”, and this coat fits the bill. With the tie waist, I think it can look a little too close to robe status (for now, we’ll just say it’s a distant cousin), but I loved just buttoning it or the thought of adding my own belt!

Dress

At 8 months pregnant I’m in my “Sweater Dress Era”, and this one is so good. It has a twist at the neckline and is a ribbed fabric making it so cozy. There are endless ways to style a dress like this!

Shoes

I’ve kissed my stilettos goodbye for now, but a good block heel never fails. The Mary Jane style has also been making a major comeback lately, and we love to see an affordable and on-trend option!
