Do you ever wonder how the main character in every Hallmark Christmas movie always has the magical ability to choose the perfect Christmas tree at the tree lot? I feel like Lacey Chabert always cites some life experience or list of credentials to validate her claims of yuletide agricultural expertise. I’m not sure how one comes to have this sixth sense — to be one with the fir or in harmony with the spruce — but I’d like to sign up for that Masterclass, please.
Whether it’s nature or nurture, not all of us have this gift; and beyond that, if you have a tree allergy, “aversion to needles”, or just want to invest in something you can use year after year, it’s not as simple as having an instinct for it. For Nathan and I, we got our first Christmas tree 7 years ago from Walmart. It was the most beautiful flocked tree, and I knew it was ours the moment I saw it — step aside, Lacey. From that point on, I knew Walmart was going to be my go to for faux Christmas trees whenever we needed one.
So, if you, like me, are less magically inclined, I hope this list helps you bring a little bit of extra cheer to your home this year!
